The church is located in the village of Balldre about 5 km from Lezha and dates back to the XII - XIII century. It is one of the oldest churches that has survived the devastation of the Ottoman period and communism. In this church you will find one of the most well know murals done by Leonardo Da Vinci know as “The last Supper”.
Last supper (Зона)
The fresco "Last Supper" is the biggest article found in this church. This fresco depicts Jesus with his disciples, including Judas. This event was presented with this fresco almost two centuries before it was painted by Leonardo Da Vinci. The difference with Leonardo Da Vinci's painting is that he has presented this moment with 12 glasses. It was realized by masters from Dalmatia, who reflected their views on this event of Christianity.
A cultural monument (Зона)
The Church of St. Friday in Balldre has been declared a cultural monument since 1981. This is the only object of the Romanesque-Gothic architectural style that still exists. It is thought to be from 1462 according to the inscription placed on the outside of the Apse
